This is a winter season that, at the foot of Mount Cervino, starts very early: in Breuil-Cervinia, in the splendid “conca del Breuil”, the cable cars are open every day from mid-October until the beginning of May. A winter that extends over two more seasons, fall and spring, thanks to the high altitudes at which the entire skiing domain of “Cervino Ski Paradise” is developed, a fitting tribute to the quality of the snow, which is never lacking here.
The three queens of this large area, among the largest and most popular in the world, Breuil-Cervinia, Valtournenche and Zermatt (Switzerland) are connected by a multitude of slopes and a dense network of cable cars. They allow an endless connection, as they give us the possibility to admire the Cervino on the Italian side and the Matterhorn on the Swiss side. Another fantastic thing is to let yourself be “captured” by the food and wine stops in the many restaurants scattered along the 350 kilometers of track.
The geography of the place speaks of three valleys and two nations, Italy and Switzerland, for international skiing without borders. “Cervino Ski Paradise” is not only identified in these iconic places, it also includes Chamois (a beautiful location that can only be reached by cable car) and Torgnon (a village overlooking the valley, known as the “sun city”). In addition to classic skiing and snowboarding, there are other exciting winter sports to enjoy at the Cervinia resort. One of them is cross country skiing, performed on a 3 km loop trail, suitable for beginners and experts alike. It is usually one of the first cross country trails to open in the Alpine region, thanks to its natural snow and altitude.
Outside of the rinks, you can also try quieter activities ideal for the family, including ice skating, snowshoe walking, and the ice kart circuit.
